MFPA and National Sports School Collaboration

A new collaboration between the Malta Football Players Association and the National Sports School malta was launched today Monday 1 July 2019. The collaboration will see a good number of students with specialisation in football, travel to the United Kingdom, to train and play against some of the best academies. This opportunity will give young players the chance to experience; the life of professional football players, to compete at high levels and to showcase their talents in front of scouting agents.

Mr Robert Magro Head of the National Sports School, conveyed his delight at this collaboration which will provide new learning opportunities for students.

Coach Paul Zammit went into some detail, explaining the programme which will be followed in the UK and highlighted the importance of such Training Camps, for a better understanding of the student-athlete lifestyle.
MFPA General Secretary Carlo Mamo, made reference to MFPA’s new position paper, in which, youth development of homegrown players, is one of the main pillars. This project is in line with said objective, since this investment, will be giving a direct and unique opportunity for development to promising 16/17 year old players.

This initiative is being financed by MFPA and has been endorsed by the Ministry for Education and Employment ( Edukazzjoni), as well as the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Sports and Voluntary Organisations. Both Minister Evarist Bartolo and Parliamentary Secretary Clifton Grima hailed the project a worthy investment and thanked MFPA for the initiative.

The young players have been training and will be travelling to the UK in the coming weeks.

Kollaborazzjoni bejn MFPA u l-iSkola Nazzjonali tal-iSport

Kollaborazzjoni Ä¡dida bejn il-Malta Football Players Association u l-iSkola Nazzjonali tal-iSport tnediet illum it-Tnejn 1 ta’ Lulju 2019. Il-kollaborazzjoni tinvolvi numru sabiħ ta’ studenti bi speÄ‹jalizzazzjoni fil-futbol, jivjaÄ¡Ä¡aw lejn ir-Renju Unit, sabiex jitħarrÄ¡u u jilagħbu kontra wħud mill-aħjar akkademji. Din l-opportunita` ser tkun qed tagħti lill-plejers żagħżagħ okkażjoni sabiex jesperjenzaw; il-ħajja ta’ plejer professjonali, jikkompetu fl-għola livelli u jesponu t-talenti tagħhom quddiem aÄ¡enti tal-iscouting.

Il-KowÄ‹ Paul Zammit tkellem fid-dettal dwar il-programm li ser ikun qed jiÄ¡i segwit fir-Renju Unit u enfasizza l-importanza ta’ Training Camps bħal dawn, biex ikun hemm għarfien ikbar dwar il-ħajja ta’ student-atleta.
Is-Segretarju Ä enerali tal-MFPA, Carlo Mamo, irrefera għall-position paper il-Ä¡dida tal- MFPA, fejn l-iżvilupp ta’ homegrown players huwa wieħed mill-pilastri prinÄ‹ipali. Dan il- proÄ¡ett huwa konformi ma’ dan l-objettiv, minħabba li permezz ta’ dan l-investiment, qed tingħata opportunita` ta’ żvilupp unika lil players promettenti ta’ 16/17 il-sena.

Din l-inizjattiva qed tiÄ¡i ffinanzjata mill-MFPA u approvata mill-Ministeru tal-Edukazzjoni u x-Xogħol, kif ukoll mis-Segretarjat Parlamentari għaż-Å»agħżagħ, Sport u Għaqdiet Volontarji. Kemm il-Ministru Evarist Bartolo, kif ukoll is-Segretarju Parlamentari Clifton Grima iddikjaraw il-proÄ¡ett bħala investiment ta’ valur u rringrazzjaw lil MFPA għal inizjattiva.

Il-players żagħżagħ qegħdin jitħarrġu u ser ikunu qed jivvjaġġaw lejn ir-Renju Unit fil-ġimgħat li ġejjin.
