MFPA alleviating financial burden of players facing accommodation issues

Yesterday MFA has announced that the First, Second and Third division leagues have been cancelled. Consequently, players in these divisions, whose contracts were set to expire this season and who are usually provided accommodation by the Clubs may be facing accommodation issues.

MFPA recognises that in these extraordinary circumstances, players may find it more difficult to repatriate immediately. For this reason, the players’ union will be available to help said players with part of their accommodation expenses for the month of May.

In order to be eligible for monetary assistance players must:

- be MFPA members,
- have a professional contract with a club in one of the cancelled divisions,
- have received less than Eur1200 in salaries per month, during the preceding 3 months,
- provide rent payment receipt

If you think you are eligible, and are in need of monetary assistance for accommodation, until you can return safely to your country, contact us on info@maltafpa.com or message us on our facebook page by direct private message. Applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
