The Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) have teamed up with Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (MIB) to create a medical insurance scheme for MFPA members. Tailored to suit the needs of Malta-based football players, the MFPA Medical Insurance Cover is suited for both professionals and amateurs.


The treatment can be done in any clinic or hospital in Malta but the insurance also enables players to undergo surgery overseas for up to €5,000. This was an important step as most players are recommended by specialist doctors to undergo knee surgery specifically the anterior cruciate ligament surgery abroad.

The annual fee for the MFPA medical insurance has been set at €320 (1st July - 30th June).
